Telly — Privacy Policy

Telly ("we", "our", or "us") provides a social television ranking platform via our mobile applications and websites. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and Apple App Store Privacy Guidelines.

1. Information We Collect

• Account Data: When you register, we collect your authentication credentials (Apple ID token, Google OAuth token, or email address and password), username, and display name.
• Entertainment Data: Your TV show rankings, pairwise duel decisions, watchlists, completed seasons, tags, and micro-reviews.
• Streaming Configuration: Active streaming service subscriptions you select (e.g. Netflix, Max) to personalize streaming availability.
• Device & Crash Data: IP address, device model, operating system version and crash reports, collected through Firebase Crashlytics (Google) so we can fix bugs. We do not collect usage analytics, and we do not use IDFA or third-party ad-tracking SDKs.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To generate your personalized TV canon, dynamic percentile ratings, and leaderboard tiers.
• To compute Taste Match % rank correlations with other users.
• To power the collaborative "Two-to-Watch" co-watching recommendation engine.
• To alert you when shows on your queue are leaving streaming platforms or premiering new seasons.

3. Data Sharing & Third Parties

• Public Visibility: By default, your username, display name, and completed TV rankings are visible to other users. You can enable Friends-Only Mode or Ghost Mode in Settings at any time.
• Third-Party Services:
  • TMDB (The Movie Database): Show metadata and cast information.
  • JustWatch (via TMDB): Streaming availability data. See Data sources in Settings for credits.
  • Supabase: Cloud database and authentication hosting.
  • Firebase (Google): Crash reports (Crashlytics) and push notifications (Cloud Messaging).
• We never sell your data to advertisers or data brokers.

4. User Rights & Account Deletion (GDPR / CCPA)

You have the full right to access, export, or delete your data:

• Data Export: You can export your entire TV history to CSV or Notion format directly from the Settings menu.
• Account Deletion: You can delete your account at Settings → Delete Account. This initiates an immediate deactivation followed by permanent, irreversible cryptographic deletion after 30 days.
